How long have you been a veterinary nurse?
I have been in nursing for 14 years overall but qualified 6 years ago.
What is the most rewarding thing about this career choice?
I find that caring for an inpatient and seeing them improve and get better is very rewarding, especially if they are a long term patient. You get to know them and create a bond!
What is the best thing about working at Animal Ark?
The best thing is the team.
What does an average day involve for a veterinary nurse at Animal Ark? What type of treatments and care does this include?
As a Vet Nurse, we carry out various roles including nurse clinics, inpatient care, preparing and monitoring surgical procedures.
How has your role progressed with Animal Ark?
I have been with the same practice from the start of my nursing career. I qualified here and am a part of the senior nurses’ team.
How has your role changed during the pandemic?
During the first lockdown, we were split into 2 groups which was a bit of a change. We also adjusted to no face to face contact with clients, and telephone communication during consults.
What single most important thing has helped you through these challenging times?
Relaxing at home with my partner and cat.
