The Warmth of Christmas In the Air

Posted by Lyndon Basha in News | Article permalink on Dec 11 2019

There was more than just Hot Chocolate and Mulled Wine to warm the air last Saturday at Animal Ark.
Local animal charities stalls lined the car park, with a crowd of people and pets making for a wonderful ‘Christmas Market’ atmosphere.
The ‘Hot Chocolate Bar’ made its debut which was a sensational hit, as people also tucked into mince pies and mulled wine.
Santa and his Little Helpers were kept busy. Ferrets, parrots and bearded dragons were among the more unusual pets who visited the grotto for a photo.
The support for the local animal charities never ceases to amaze. This year we managed to raise more than £2,000 for charitable causes which is an amazing amount. On behalf of our furry (and not-so furry) friends we say a big thank you for your generous donations.
A big thank you goes to Graham Clarke whose dulcet tones really set the mood, singing a fantastic array of classic Christmas songs.
A round of thanks also goes to Rashna and Tony with their bar skills again on display for everyone’s benefit, Rocky and his friends who arrived on motorbikes with spectacular flashing lights, and Nicola and her Shetland Pony ‘Toby’.
Grotto photos from the evening (taken by Duncan Smith) will be available to collect free-of-charge from Animal Ark from Tuesday 17th December (although any donations to Animal Ark’s Stray fund will be gratefully received).
On behalf of all the crew at Animal Ark we sincerely thank you for all of your support throughout the year and beyond and for the privilege of trusting us with your loved ones. We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
