Record Turnout At Open Day And Christmas Party

Wow! Each year
the Animal Ark community continues to grow and this year was no exception with a
record number joining in the fun of the Animal Ark Open Day and Christmas Party
held on Sunday 4 December.
With a prize up
for grabs for best room as voted by you, there was fierce competition between
the crew to make 'the best room'.
The crew put a lot of passion into their rooms, from floating blood globules and
informative blood displays, dental demonstrations, fascinating nutritional
information and hydrotherapy demonstrations. Congratulations to Mrs
Graham, the lucky prize draw winner who helped select the Operating Theatre
featuring the 'what's it feel like to put your hand inside a dog's stomach'
experience voted as the best room.
It was our
opportunity to say thank you for all your support throughout the year. We
hope everyone enjoyed the festive food and drink.
Many left with
prizes under their arms from the various raffles, tombola and competitions.
A flat screen television, blu-ray disc player, ipod, bottles of wine,
chocolates, purfumes, books and many more items were won on the day. The
lucky winners not in attendance at the draw have been notified by phone.
The Animal Ark
community managed to raise over £2,000 for the stray fund and various local
animal charities. On behalf of our furry friends we say thank you for your
support.
For the kids and
big kids, face painting and Santa's Grotto returned as popular as ever. All
sorts of species joined in on the fun, including a duck and a parrot getting to
sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they want for Christmas! Visitors to
Santa's Grotto can collect their momento photo from Animal Ark Reception.
A Day like this
takes a lot of effort and preparation and it would not have been the success it
was without the efforts of our crew and the fantastic support of numerous
volunteers. A big thank you goes out to all of you who helped, including
Santa making his way down from the North Pole.
We trust
everybody enjoyed themselves and we would like to wish everyone a Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year!
